The Kelston Visioning Project involves five schools, St Leonards Road School, Kelston Intermediate, Kelston Girls’ College, Kelston Boys’ High School and Ko Taku Reo.

It’s been some time since the last update about the project which asked for community feedback on co-location of both Kelston Boys’ High School and Kelston Girls’ College. Following this consultation, the Ministry of Education made a funding application to the government for the project to be scoped.

Since then, the current government has reviewed all school property projects and due to financial constraints have cancelled some of the projects they were considering. We are disappointed to share with our community that the Kelston Visioning Project is one of the projects that will not be progressing and has been cancelled.

The Ministry of Education contacted Kelston Boys’ High School and Kelston Girls’ College informing them of this decision. Please see below for a copy of this letter.

The Boards and Principals of St Leonards Road School, Kelston Intermediate, Kelston Girls’ College, Kelston Boys’ High School and Ko Taku Reo, would like to thank staff, students, whānau and community members who have been involved over the years and have participated in driving the project forward. Although the project is no longer progressing, your input will continue to inspire us to do our best for our ākonga and the Kelston community.
